Tamron Announce Two New Lenses!
Today Tamron have announced not one but two new lenses, a redesign of their legendary 90mm Macro and the sought after popular lens range of 70-200mm. They both feature maximum apertures of just f/2.8 and offer VC (Vibration Compensation) and USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive)!
SP 90mm F/2.8 Di MACRO 1:1 VC USD
Tamron have decided to redesign their 90mm macro lens for full frame DSLR’s. With a new state of the art optical design and rounded diaphragm for produces excellent blur effects, it features some of Tamron’s top features. Like the 70-200mm it features VC (Vibration Control) an image stabilisation mechanism to reduce camera shake to produce sharp images and USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) to provide fast auto focusing along with a continuous manual focus mechanism. It also incorporates IF, an internal focus system so that the lens remains the same size in length during focusing. This lens boasts two XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) glasses and one LD (Low Dispersion) element to reduce chromatic aberration and improves sharpness. In addition to this it features Tamron’s new eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency) Coating which is designed to improve the reduction of reflections, flare and ghosting for better image quality. As expected with Tamron’s top end lenses the build quality is excellent with the moisture resistant construction. This new lens will be sold alongside its predecessor, the SP AF90mm F/2.8 Di MACRO 1:1 (Model 272E).

SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD
This lens is a compact full-size, high-speed telephoto zoom lens that features VC to reduce camera shake for sharper images. Tamron’s new VC Image Stabilisation mechanism features a lightweight moving coil mechanism, which reduces the load on the drive system. This in turn has enabled Tamron to produce this light and compact sized lens. The USD makes auto focusing easy and quick and also includes a continuous manual focus mechanism. Chromatic aberration is kept to a minimum with the XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) glass and four LD (Low Dispersion) elements. The rounded diaphragm offers excellent blur effects giving images a sense of depth and richness. This lens also boasts Tamron’s multi-layer coating technology for great quality images to reduce flare and ghosting and the moisture-resistant construction adds to the quality of the build.
