    This morning Nikon announced a new superzoom lens, the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR.

    Nikon’s new AF-S DX Nikkor 18-300mm superzoom sounds impressive, and at a reasonable price of £850 too. As we all know, superzooms are great, for what they are, particularly if you’re after an all-in-one lens for your travels.

    But large focal length ranges in lenses will always compromise image quality, and you’ll often find the AF focusing at the long ends (due to not-superfast apertures of f/5.6 at tele end) is dog slow.
